Just as the farmers we serve, we farm, we have watched the rise and fall of the markets and agriculture industries for six generations. In 1980 when the crop insurance program became available we saw it as a way to lend a helping hand to those friends and neighbors when farming wasn't as friendly. We are farmers, helping farmers insure their investments.

Ken and his wife Caroline have spent over sixty years in the farming community raising their family. Livestock of all kinds, five children, twelve grandchildren, and sixteen great - grandchildren have all been a product of their hard work and dedication. In 1980 Ken made the decision that he would continue that dedication by helping local farmers with their crop insurance needs. At over 80 you still find Ken in the office answering crop insurance questions or out on the farm baling hay.

Melissa and her husband Tim have spent nearly 35 years paving their own path in the world of agriculture. In 1995 they moved back to Melissa's family farm where they would raise their own two children, start a production beef cattle operation, and Melissa would join Ken in the crop insurance business. Now 20 years later Melissa is dedicated to serving farmers in the insurance business, day to day you will find her answering crop insurance questions, working on the farm, or working her favorite job "Grammy".

With any family legacy you only hope that you can continue to add generations. In 2017 the Alexander - Gerber Crop Insurance family did just that when Melissa's daughter Kayla joined the operation. Kayla, her husband JT, and their son Johnny are making their mark on the operation. Kayla brought to the table her knowledge of graphic design, social media marketing, as well as her love and passion for agriculture to put a new face with the operation. Daily you can find Kayla answering questions, working on the farm, or chasing a very active two year old.

In south eastern Iowa we have McKane Wells, and his family. McKane is a third generation member of his family operation, and is dedicated to help farmers in Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri.
