Traditions of Leadership

Today, just as when the organization began operation as the Rain and Hail Insurance Bureau, we are a leader in developing sound insurance programs. Over the decades, our stability has enabled our team of professionals to focus its energies - first and foremost - on policyholder and agent needs.

The first generation of Rain and Hail managers are still recognized as pioneers in the crop insurance industry. In addition to forming one of the nation's first risk management pools in 1919, they were largely responsible for establishing equitable adjusting and rating procedures. This is the groundwork of strength that led to the firm's 1981 reorganization as an employee-owned managing general agency. In 2010, Rain and Hail L.L.C. was acquired by Chubb.

Spirit of Support

Rain and Hail employees bring a personal commitment to the organization that sets the standard for professionalism. Their spirit of responsibility and mutual support is an intangible quality. It is that spirit that defines the way they do business.

Just as importantly, Rain and Hail employees understand American agriculture because they have lived it. Their personal understanding of the needs of crop insurance producers translates to top efficiency and performance.

Front-Line Field Network

Rain and Hail's strong corporate support is just that - support. Its centers of service include an entire network of division offices, where local field teams provide immediate, individualized solutions to agents and policyholders. Each division office coordinates all phases of its area's underwriting, claims adjusting and accounting. Continuing education for field personnel is conducted with a focus on the continually changing needs of each region.
